Where have we been?

Well……… as you may or may not have noticed we have not been as active on social media as we have in the past and this includes blogging. I have debated this post for several months but after a nice conversation with a colleague in the industry, I decided maybe now was the time to write this post.

Many have asked, are you still booking events?….the answer is YES! However, we are ONLY accepting a VERY limited amount of events. Although I LOVE designing events and have proven to be quite good at it…(yes a little pat on the back for me) it is a extremely time consuming and emotionally straining profession. It requires long hours, often working weekdays, nights and weekends especially in the summer and over holidays. Being a business owner adds even more responsibility and stress to the mix. Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with a local photographer who has been in the industry for several years, we were chatting and sharing stories and he mentioned to me that he has missed 46 summers and raised his children from afar, in order to make a living to support his family, in this industry and follow his passion. 46 summers! Can you believe that….. So far I have missed 8 summers, and I will say this I’m not willing to miss anymore of them. I am now a single mother and summers are when my daughter is out of school. I don’t want to miss every single weekend with her due to having to work a wedding. Who knows, I may only have one chance at being a mom and I want my summers, weekends and holidays to be memories that I share with her and the rest of my family……

Over the years my clients have become friends and some more like family. I have truly enjoyed getting to know them and see them grow as a family and am honored to be a part of their life events. This is why I have decided to only accept a limited amount of events. I want to personally bond and get to know each of my clients and make their events truly memorable. The past 2 seasons we had the opportunity to design and coordinate some remarkable events and I have to say I am so thankful for all of the fabulous women at Elite as well as my close friends and family who stepped up and helped me and supported me during a very difficult time in my personal life. These girls are made of gold and I’m so grateful that god brought each and every one of them into my life. Kati, Melissa, Sharon, Laurie, Megan, Brooke, Erika, Shayna, Ashley, and all of the amazing interns that have assisted us over the last few seasons.  Not to mention my family and very close friends Hayley, Kristi, Beth, Cori, Kris, Terry etc, who have helped either by assisting at an event, babysitting you name it.   I love you all so much!. Every Elite Event is truly a group effort. I may be the brains behind the operation but without my team it wouldn’t be an ELITE EVENT.

These girls and I have had several events published on national blogs and in national magazines and I hope to continue with that. YES we will still remain at 1113 Adams, for now thought our studio is open by appointment only. I hope to start blogging again and becoming more active again on social media. I also hope to add more social events to our repertoire and celebrate other life events besides doing mainly weddings. I really appreciate all of the fabulous referrals that my colleges have passed along it is always so wonderful working with you, I appreciate your trust In me and I hope to see you more this up coming year.

So for all of you that have been wondering where we have been and where are going, that’s the scoop. Thank you to all of you that have helped me make Elite Events what it is today, I couldn’t have done it without you!
