Faith Love and Marriage October 6th 2012

Mr. & Mrs. Jeremy & Natalie Macke gave us the
pleasure of helping them through every aspect of their wedding as Full Planning
Clients. When we first met Natalie and her mother Monica they wanted to go over
the details of our contract very carefully, which was a good sign for us. We
knew right away that this was going to be a client who would
communicate to us exactly what they want and with that, we would be able to
guide them to the wedding of their dreams. Natalie is honest, humble and
beautiful inside and out, which made working for her and Jeremy not only
pleasurable but an honor. Since Faith is the cornerstone of their lives, we
wanted to make sure that guests felt that presence throughout the wedding. When looking through the photos below notice that Natalie and Jeremy are not just posing they are praying. You will see details such as crosses, bibles and tables named after bible verses. Our classic conservative couple used a color palate blending neutral champagnes with hues of greys then added an elegant touch of purples which we felt paired beautifully with the Toledo Country Clubs interior. From concept to completion you can see how we captured Natalie’s soft kind nature, Jeremy’s consistent commitment to her and their shared love for the outdoors all while telling their story of Faith Love & Marriage.

Decor ideas for Fall:

Not everyone has time or money to update your home décor for
the new season. For those of you who know what you want but just do not have
the time to make it happen we will come to you! Our seasonal & celebration
design will transform your home into a warm welcoming place where friends and
family can make lasting memories. Here has we put together this beautiful fresh
take on a table setting that will look good from October through December.

This fall, I am falling in love with warm jewel
tones! I think it is a nice break from the reds and oranges which have been
done so many times before.  I paired this
purple table setting with a lovely metallic gold charger and brought in accents
from the outdoors with a natural wood table runner, then I incorporated a pop
of warmth with a rich plum colored napkin. For the final touch I got crafty and
made place card holders from a mini pumpkin by covering it in glitter, which
really jazzed up the whole table setting.

*Designer Tip: To
make your room feel elegant I like to leave my dining table set throughout the
day, not just for dinner. It keeps the table from becoming a dumping ground for
book bags & mail and anytime you are snapping photos in the house you have
a nice looking table in your background!

Additional details and Statement Arrangements

Once again using warm jewel tones our Floral
Designer Sharon Johnson has put together a beautiful arrangement that is
cohesive with the table setting. Another departure from the Oranges and Reds We
added a white pumpkin and incorporated natural twigs to keep the outdoor
element consistent.

Since this particular design can work for a few months you may want to opt for
artificial flowers or speak with our floral department about changing them out
frequently.

Remember to burn scented candles to fill your home with the aromas of pumpkin space or cinnamon apple cider. We love these tiered glass candle holders which pair with our metallic’s and keep everything looking elegant.

Stationary

A nice added touch that we give our home décor clients is seasonal custom stationary. Your note pads, thank you cards, holiday party invitations and menu’s will be cohesive with your custom seasonal décor, like this framed menu which coordinates with the design of the table.

We see a lot of clients who get on pinterest and think they can DIY there event or home décor.  Thankfully there are now some debunking blogs out there proving that not every
project turns out pinterest perfect. More often that not we find that when its
all said and done they just prefer to spend a little bit more money and have it
done right by professionals who have access to décor items that you can rent
instead of having to purchase or pinterest. BUT should you want to get crafty
here are some pre approved pinterest projects that you  and even the kiddo’s can easily and inexpensively pull off.

DIY Decor

An Easy Décor idea: Tip #1: If you do not already own a nice large glass vessel or apothecary jar, invest in 1 or 2 or 3! They are beautiful and a must have for any holiday or any season for that matter!  Here I have used my glass apothecary jar and filled it with seasonal  gourds & mini pumpkins.  For Easter I filled the same container with Easter eggs and for Christmas I filled it with ornaments.  it versatile, beautiful and is the perfect vessel for a quick and inexpensive accent piece that can be placed anywhere in your home for virtually any season.

Gift Giving Decor

For a fast gift that even the kids can help make: Yarn wrapped letters
I decided to incorporate the warm jewel tones again in this accent piece
but you can choose whatever color you think is best for the person your giving
it to!

You will need a foam or wooden
letter, Yarn, glue gun & some flowers or other accent. Simply wrap the yarn
around the letter being careful to only glue small spots on the back side. If
you make any mistakes don’t worry because you can cover it with your accent
décor item! Our particular letter is a little on the large side but you can opt for a much smaller letter and double it as a gift that can be then placed at their place setting it can even double as their seat marker.  The possibilities are endless.  The same concept can be applied to bottles that you can reuse and cover with year which can then hold flowers or serve as just a great piece alone!

I hope we have inspired you to step outside the box this fall season with some of our fall favorites and tips for decorating this fall!

This week in the Studio we have two of our lovely Elite Brides Stationary going out to them.

Megan & Logan opted for a whimsical, simplistic yet modern look, incorporating their beautiful ocean blue color with lime green accents in the text.

I simply can’t wait for these events :)

Katie & David are Married~An Elite Event

Katie & David were married July 31, 2011 in a classy country outdoor wedding ceremony at the beautiful County Line Orchard located in Hobart, Indiana.

This was a  special wedding for us here at Elite Events– don’t get me wrong, we become close with the majority of our clients however, when your planning a destination wedding there typically is several site visits, vendor meetings, conceptual design meetings, you get the picture. We end up spending a lot of time with our clients. When Katie & David came to me, they had 2 things: a photographer: Jp-Photography, and a vision.  They wanted a Classy Country Wedding! Instantly I was excited & intrigued.

When I asked Katie & David what style of wedding they wanted and how they envisioned their wedding day to look they both agreed, “Definitely UNIQUE. We envision our wedding day to be out in the country either in a barn or in a rustic setting, while still maintaining a elegant feel.”

Katie and David were married on one of the Hottest days of the year in one of the most beautiful and unique weddings we’ve ever had the fortune of being a part of.  Designed head-to-toe by Elite Events infusing Katie and David’s love for all things country, cows, sweets, and DETAILS this wedding was nothing short of perfection!

Their main inspiration for the entire wedding was the beautiful venue itself. The new Timber Frame Barn offers an amazing one of a kind event space and is nestled among a gorgeous apple orchard harvesting over 20 different kinds of apples.  Pulling inspiration from the colors found in the different apples harvested at the orchard as well as the Timber Frame Structure itself which was where Katie and Davids reception would be held, we had a design direction complete with color scheme.

This is the moodboard that we created for Katie & David : It represents the overall feel and design direction of their wedding.

The bride wore a gorgeous yet simple gown. Her shoes could not have been any cuter or suiting for the theme, red cowboy boots! . The bridesmaids were in red colored tea length dresses.

Their ceremony took place in a field nestled within the gorgeous apple orchard. Guests were transported to the ceremony via a tractor pulled wagon.  Upon arriving to the to the beautiful ceremony site guests were greeted with a refreshment station featuring infused tea, lemonade and water.  Once guests helped themselves to the refreshments they were invited to be seated on beautiful natural wooden chairs. Another unique element were the custom made wooden benches that were used as reserved seating for the family.  Elle Musique (String Trio) Provided beautiful music setting the scene for a breathtaking ceremony.   One of my favorite elements of the ceremony were the programs.  Katie & David really wanted something unique yet fitting to their event.  Elite Events created custom dye cut programs shaped like an apple, that coordinated with the rest of their stationary which we also had the privilege of designing.  Tree stumps with Bronze lanterns and yellow mums lined the aisle,  The alter was flanked by a beautiful hand made wooden arch, with hanging lanterns and a gorgeous spray of flowers featuring orange tiger lilies, yellow no eye Gerber daisies, red alstroemeria and green hypericums.

All the fine details of the day from every single bloom to the handmade signs labeling the food, favors and drinks, were carefully thought out and designed as a group effort by Elite Events, Katie & David.  Katie & David handmade the gorgeous chalkboard signs that were scattered around the reception, the table numbers that were created from pieces of natural wood and hand painted, complete with handmade napkin rings featuring a cow and wrapped with twine. Everything was just beautiful!

Their tablescapes will always be a favorite of mine– and I had so much fun seeing Katie & David’s vision come together. They had a mixture of round tables anchored by fruit wood chiavari chairs with beautiful floor length champagne pintuck linens as well as soft floor length ivory linens creating that natural and elegant feel without taking away from the space. Each place setting featured a mason jar mug that guests were asked to fill with their signature drink “blackberry sangria” and toast to them as husband and wife.  A apple red polyester linen napkin, tied with twine and accented with the brides favorite animal a cow, were placed at each setting. Candlelight was another important feature to Katie, with that being said each table featured either apples that were individually cored and held tea lights or mason jars filled featuring a floating candle.

My initial design sketch

The floral design was a collaboration with Kristina Lynn Floral. Kristina helped to make our visions a reality! As you will see below I worked with Katie & David and designed 3 different centerpieces.  Each centerpiece had unique elements that as a whole embraced the Classy Country Apply Orchard Theme seamsly.  I found wood boxes in 2 different sizes that were the perfect addition to the round tables,

  1. We used the smaller of the two boxes for the first arrangement, filled with a mix of flowers in shades of orange, red, green and yellows.  These accompanied with mason jars filled with coordinating flowers and flanked with fresh apples that were cored to hold tea lights completed the look of one of the tables.
  2.  The second centerpiece was a tall centerpiece featuring a cylinder vase filled with bright red apples, topped with a beautiful arrangement featuring yellow daisies, red mini carnations, green spider mums, orange tiger lily, bear grass and curly willow that tea lights were suspended from.  This arrangement was flanked by floating candles in mason jars.
  3. The third arrangement utilized the larger of the 2 wooden boxes and was composed of the same flowers found in the other arrangements just many more of them.  This centerpiece was also flanked by fresh apple tea lights.

Candles were scattered all over in freshly cored apples and  and mason jars.

The simple and super tastey cake was created by Strongbow Bakery and featured fresh flowers and sat on top of a hand cut tree stump. Perhaps my favorite part of the wedding, Katie & David supplied two tables of sweets also baked by Strongbow Bakery complete with a Doughnut grooms cake made of County Lines Famous sugar Doughnuts, the tables also included  bags for guests to take the tasty treats home.

Katie & David we feel honored to have been a part of your wedding day! Best wishes for a fruitful and long lasting marriage!
