Day 1 of the 2014 Designer Challenge came with strategic selections of images that we wanted to portray as a vintage radiant orchid wedding. We decided to choose the above images for the following reasons. The bouquet that was chosen shows the radiant orchid that we were striving for in many different tones and a variety of beautiful flowers. We admire the above table setting because the tall vase with flowers blooming over the top set off the look of the overall setting. The table also shows wine glasses with radiant orchid napkins that stand tall and bring the whole piece together. Above we displayed creative decoration tags that show inspirational quotes and a farewell from the bride and groom that guests can take with them. The wedding cake brings elegance and a vintage look that will make heads turn to admire its stature. The ladder is used to display various flowers and a mirror to show the dinner menu in a creative, vintage style. We decided to choose the wedding dress because it’s a classical white dress, but it spiced up with the radiant orchid crinoline. Finally, we chose this style of wedding invitation because it is unique with it’s wooden look, as well as, portraying the vintage theme in advance to the guests of the wedding.

Mr. & Mrs. Jeremy & Natalie Macke gave us the
pleasure of helping them through every aspect of their wedding as Full Planning
Clients. When we first met Natalie and her mother Monica they wanted to go over
the details of our contract very carefully, which was a good sign for us. We
knew right away that this was going to be a client who would
communicate to us exactly what they want and with that, we would be able to
guide them to the wedding of their dreams. Natalie is honest, humble and
beautiful inside and out, which made working for her and Jeremy not only
pleasurable but an honor. Since Faith is the cornerstone of their lives, we
wanted to make sure that guests felt that presence throughout the wedding. When looking through the photos below notice that Natalie and Jeremy are not just posing they are praying. You will see details such as crosses, bibles and tables named after bible verses. Our classic conservative couple used a color palate blending neutral champagnes with hues of greys then added an elegant touch of purples which we felt paired beautifully with the Toledo Country Clubs interior. From concept to completion you can see how we captured Natalie’s soft kind nature, Jeremy’s consistent commitment to her and their shared love for the outdoors all while telling their story of Faith Love & Marriage.

I’m excited to share with you today a super fun, bridal shower that I had the pleasure of working on with one of my favorite people. Stephanie, is the owner of a chic boutique Bumble located in downtown Sylvania, Ohio. Bumble offers fabulous gifts and home accessories, baby boutique, custom in-home decorating and home delivery. They have some of the most beautiful accessories I have ever seen. When Stephanie contacted me and asked for some assistance in pulling together her vision for this shower, needless to say I was very excited. Stephanie has great taste, and loves to throw a great party, so I knew this was going to be fun!
The inspiration was derived from a invitation in which she fell in love with from Fine Stationary. From this invite we pulled fabrics that complemented the invitation.
When deciding on centerpieces we knew we wanted something unique and eye catching. I am a huge fan of beautiful centerpieces, if you couldn’t tell by now A centerpiece is a great accessory to any table. I came up with the idea of having cakes that resembled various parts of the invitation as the actual centerpieces for each of the tables, each one being truly unique and creating not only a great accessory for the table but creating a conversation piece as well. Ashleigh and Stephanie loved the idea! I proposed the following cakes:
1. a frog on a lily pad
2. a plush pillow with a crown
3. a ring box with a replica of her engagement ring
4. a small replica of the chapel that they will be getting married in
Heather from My little Patisserie did an AMAZING job! The cakes tasted just as great as they looked and there was no detail that was overlooked.
Both Stephanie and Ashleigh (The Bride) wanted to find unique alternatives to the traditional bridal shower games. With this in mind we had Heather bake little trinkets inside each of the cakes, then the person who recieved the piece of cake with the trinket won a prize. Just one of the “special” touches of this fabulous party!
Stephanie and Ashleigh, Thank you for allowing us to assist you make your event an Elite Event. It was such a pleasure working with you both.
Special Thanks to:

Most teachers look forward to June July & August so they can escape the classroom and enjoy vacation. This teacher looks forward saying goodbye to my little dancers for the summer and kicking into high gear at Elite Events. The past few months have been a whirlwind filled with touching love stories, beautiful destinations and magazine worthy details taken by our areas top photographers.
What captured me most took 8 months of physical and mental discipline to prepare for. I spent my winter fasting from home made pies, petit fours and birthday cakes just so I could truly appreciate the goodies that I knew would be waiting for me to sample at each event. THANKFULLY, I was not disappointed. The beautifully decorated and mind-blowing-amazing flavors that came from the kitchens of Chef Hannah Alvarez owner of Butterfly and Kathy Shortridge owner of Kathy’s Kitchen: Home of Sweet Creations made my winter fast worth doing all over again. I was seduced by monkey headed cake pops, Grand Mariner French Buttercream and well…my husband, who LOVED the Ohio State Grooms Cake Hannah and Kathy worked together to create (everyone knows the way to a mans heart is through his stomach!)
